The Herron Experience '08 ~ Art Couture (THE '08)

Herron's NEW annual fundraising event fondly referred to as THE '08! Join 300 community friends for an evening of Art Couture--or high fashion wearable art and an opportunity to experience Herron! Don't miss the evening's runway show spotlighting the creativity and talent of Herron students and other artists, and their artistic take on wearable art. Walk throughout Eskenazi Hall to see the art and design created here!

The exclusive VIP Pre-Party kicks the night into high gear, followed by entertainment, art auctions, the wearable art runway show, drinks and a progressive dinner that will tour you through Eskenazi Hall. Taste some of the finest culinary creations by the city's most notable chefs.

Proceeds of the event will support Herron's community outreach programs, including the Herron Galleries and Visiting Artist Lecture Series.

Call to Herron Students To Create Wearable Art
We need YOU and your artistic talents! This is your opportunity to show off your creative edge to the masses. Participation in the runway show is open to ALL Herron students. Submissions based upon the art couture, or wearable-art theme, are due no later than February 25 to Laura Dodds, dean's suite, #224D. Submit your ideas as sketches, or describe them in a typed, one-page document. Keep in mind that your wearable art piece must function as a garment that will be worn on the runway. If you have your own model, great. If not, we will help you find one. The cost for your wearable art piece will be at your expense. Submissions will be judged and the top picks will be seen on the runway. Stop in and chat with Laura Dodds if you have any questions. This is a new fundraiser for the school - we can work together to make it a night people will be talking about for a long time to come.

What You Get For Participating in the Runway Show:

• 2 FREE tickets to the event ($250 value)
• Your wearable art viewed by the masses during the runway show. Be seen, meet and mingle with several of Indy's art collectors!
• Win "Best of Show" - A decision made by a panel of judges from Herron, and local artists and gallery owners. The winning wearable art piece will be featured in a future Herron Enewsletter reaching 4,000+ community friends and donors.
