Introduction to materials, techniques, and uses of a specific art media. Course will focus on a material or artistic approach to introduce students to art making. Demonstrations, lectures, and critiques support art assignments. Topics change to coordinate with current faculty expertise and interest in the community. Current classes include Arabic Calligraphy and Mural Painting.

Drawing for Animation

A fine arts oriented introduction to drawing the human figure in motion, focusing on figurative images for animation. Drawing from life in this course is at the foundation of understanding human skeletal and muscular structure, proportion, balance, weight and pose essential for depicting sequential movement. Combining observational skill development with figure drawing exercises, the course content includes basic anatomy, principles of animation, elements of style, and articulation studies.
