Tennant, professor of furniture design, came to the fine arts department in 1975 to develop the furniture design program. Prior to his appointment, he spent three years as a studio assistant to internationally-renowned furniture artist Wendell Castle in Rochester, New York. He maintains an active professional career as a studio furniture artist, furniture designer and sculptor. His many patrons include private, corporate and public clients.
