Simparch
SIMPARCH is an artist collaborative group formed in 1996 based in Chicago and Cincinnati. The group produces works operating on the borders of architecture, design, and popular culture. Creating large-scale works that take into account the specificities and histories of a given site, SIMPARCH highlights how popular iconographies and artistic and architectural languages and concerns intersect. Architecture becomes a conduit and a location for discourse.
SIMPARCH has recently completed projects at the Tate Modern, London; InSite 05, San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico; 2004 Whitney Biennial, New York; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco; and a permanent installation, Clean Livin?, for the Center for Land Use Interpretation in Wendover, UT.
