| Academic Programs | Herron School of Art and Design offers graduate degree programs in Art Education, Art History, Art Therapy and Visual Communication Thinking. In addition, the new M.F.A. in Visual Art and Public Life degree program has concentrations in ceramics, furniture design, painting and drawing, photo and intermedia, printmaking and sculpture. Endowment support to these academic programs provide for technology, studio and classroom supplies and quality equipment and tools—all of which are critical in setting Herron’s programs above others. Philanthropic investments today help build a strong and sustainable future.

| Faculty Research Fund | Faculty research support provides competitive funding to spur innovative works of art and scholarship. Support may be directed to art education, art history, art therapy, studio fine art and visual communication design. These prestigious awards help retain and attract Herron faculty members and inspire them to expand their artistic and scholarly work, yielding new insights into the human condition.

| Gallery and Visiting Artist Presentations | Gallery and Visiting Artist Presentations provide students and the public access to the wonder of the creative process. No tuition dollars support the presentation of works of art and research by visiting artists, designers and scholars of the day. Endowment funding secured, Herron can vie internationally for blockbuster presentations Indianapolis could otherwise never obtain.

| Operating Endowment | Long-term financial stability is critical to maintaining Herron’s quality facilities, programs and instruction. Unrestricted funds help address current needs and allow the flexibility to seize unique opportunities to benefit those Herron serves. The value of income from an operating endowment cannot be overstated. It will help maintain Herron’s stunning facilities and provide resources for upkeep and maintenance of the specialty equipment required of an art and design school.
